God reveals Himself in the Scriptures and Nature. We can find out about our knowable and yet incomprehensible God by studying the Bible and by taking a gander at nature.
Creation as a part of God’s general revelation attests inescapable truths about God. Nature authenticates God’s presence and that is one of the reasons Paul had to say this… (Romans 1:20).
“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.”
This revelation about God doesn’t comprise of words-it is a nonverbal declaration. The sky, in this manner, offers a still constant testimony of who God is.
God fills every place. Just chance outside and you will be enthralled with the complexities of creation; the mountains, the seashores, wildernesses, sea depths, prairies, farmland, deserts, and valleys. To see His creation is to see a piece of Him.
Bible-believing Christians are often depicted as uninformed and opposed to science. This depiction is propagated by the secular world as well as obliquely by Christians. Christians can unintentionally fortify this “anti-science” argument if they don’t differentiate between the statements of scientists and the statements of atheists who happen to have scientific credentials.
Can you imagine that our universe happens to have the right size, density, chemical composition, and balance of forces to make life possible anywhere in it? The same applies to planet Earth. Secular scientists today describe Earth as “rare” and “lucky” that it has the precise and the right balance of size, mass, composition, spin, sister planets, and a favourable sun to make complex life possible. The more exoplanets we find, the more our earth and solar system look like an astonishingly serendipitous throw of the dice. Sooner or later, “chance” turns out to be implausible to such an extent that “supernatural occurrence” or “design” becomes a better explanation – if only science was sanctioned to employ these terms. In any case, Christians can state the apparent.
No. The plastic blocks would rub against each other and change to dust long before some might bolt together to form anything of consequence. Likewise, evolutionary “just so” accounts cannot explain the elegance and design of life that screams of its Creator. No string of accidents can ever supersede skill.
Let us celebrate and embrace science as part of general revelation, save when it contradicts the special revelation. The Science vs Faith argument is a false dichotomy.
“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.” Psalm 19:1-4 (ESV).
